Maple, Sugar (Acer saccharum)

Famous for its delicious maple sugar, brilliant fall colors, and lumber, this slow to moderate growing tree is multi-purpose. This species also makes an excellent shade tree. Sugar Maple is commonly browsed by whitetail deer and snowshoe hare, caging or fencing is recommended to protect seedlings.
