Dogwood, Red Osier (Cornus sericea)

Known for red twigs in winter, this fast-growing shrub also has white flowers, smooth dark green leaves, berries and reddish purple fall colors.  It's a good informal border planting or windbreak choice. Robins, waxwings, rabbits and deer like this shrub for both food and cover.
