Spruce, Black Hills (bundle of 25)
(Picea mariana densata) Popular in farmstead and field windbreaks, wood from the Black Hills Spruce is used for lumber and pulpwood. A moderate grower, it also makes for a nice Christmas trees. At 30-60 feet tall and 15-25 feet wide, the Black Hills Spruce is a good yard and ornamental tree as well. It prefers full sun and grows best in moist loam soils, but is fairly drought resistant. The brown cones and tan seeds provide nesting, cover and food for birds over winter. Sold in bundle of 25 seedlings.
