Black Hills Spruce (Picea glauca Densata)

Popular in farmstead and field windbreaks, wood from the Black Hills Spruce is used for lumber and pulpwood. A moderate grower, it also makes for a beautiful Christmas tree. The brown cones and tan seeds provide nesting, cover and food for birds over winter.
